What is the Program about?

Do you want to reclaim control over your life and manage your ADHD with or without psychiatric medication?

Psychology Melbourne’s ADHD Life Skills Program is designed to help you develop practical skills and strategies to manage ADHD independently.

Our experienced ADHD psychologists will work with you to develop a structured program with a weekly schedule that will give you clear direction and goals.

Following this program can help you experience less stress, more energy, and greater confidence in handling daily challenges.

Ongoing 30-minute review sessions are available to keep you on track.

How does it work?

Across three structured sessions, you and your psychologist will:

  • Identify the areas that cause you the most problems.
  • Develop a structured personalised management program with a weekly schedule of exercises.
  • Provide practical techniques to help you gain control over ADHD and improve your daily life.

Research indicates that the optimal treatment for ADHD must include three areas of focus (British Medical Journal, 2024).

These three areas are:

  • Organisational Strategies
  • Social and relationship behaviours (or third wave components)
  • Problem Solving Techniques

Some areas may be easier for you than others. This program identifies your specific needs and builds skills in areas where you need the most support.

What is included in the Program?

This is a structured program designed specifically for your current circumstances. It includes:

  • Two screening tests to identify your areas of need.
  • Three 1-hour consultations with an ADHD psychologist to create your structured program.
  • A step-by-step written program with a weekly schedule to guide your future.

* If you have already completed a ADHD screener with us, please let your psychologist know.

Who is this Program for?

This program is for people who:

  • Are on medication but need additional support managing daily life.
  • Want a structured step-by-step plan to improve their work, social life and overall wellbeing.
  • Prefer to reduce reliance on medication and learn to manage their ADHD independently.
  • Need self-management skills to set and achieve personal and professional independent goals.
  • Want practical strategies to support career progression and focus.
