We all get angry and impatient, and I am no different. I have learned to keep calm especially when triggered by small and often unimportant 'irritants'. This course will help you understand your response to anger, what triggers it, and ways you can control it before it ends up controlling you.

Who should attend this course?

Anyone who has reacted to a situation with anger which they later regretted, and now wants to learn how they can respond in more constructive and reasonable ways to situations they otherwise find difficult.

What will you learn from this course?

Core to managing your anger is understanding your physical response to anger, what triggers it, how it escalates, and the process for managing and ultimately preventing your anger from getting the better of you. You will learn simple but effective anger management techniques to control your anger as it's happening, as well as more in-depth approaches to understand your anger process and stop it from escalating.

About the presenter, Dr. Anna Mooney

The group is led by Dr Mooney who has a long held special interest in anger management and has facilitated groups in professional and volunteer settings. She has developed an appreciation of the learning that results from group members’ contributions.

  • Qualifications: Master of Clinical Psychology ACU), PhD (Psychology: University of Melbourne), Grad Dip and Post Grad Dip in Psychology (Uni Melb).
  • Extensive experience in leading in-patient and outpatient groups at Epworth clinic. Groups have covered: CBT, ACT, DBT.
  • Training in Trauma specific therapeutic modalities: EMDR, Cognitive Processing therapy, Prolonged exposure therapy.
  • Over 10 years’ experience in academic teaching (both online and in person) in Psychology at the University of Melbourne and Monash university.

This short course is for personal development.
