Introductory Counselling package - General Psychologist
The introductory counselling package is a highly effective way to get a diagnosis, find out if you are a good fit with your psychologist and get an estimate of how long you may need counselling. It will also save you between $10 - $13 dollars (5%) on each of your sessions.
The introductory package is designed to allow your psychologist enough time to understand your issues; to monitor your progress as you start working towards your goals; and estimate how many more sessions will be required to achieve the best results from your counselling. Regular and consistent appointments are essential.
Please note: your introductory package will expire 8 weeks from the date of purchase.
Introductory Assessment
Before your first session reception will email you some intake forms and an initial psychological test for you to complete. These must both be completed 48 hours before your first session, or your appointment may have to be rescheduled.
The first two sessions of your package are assessment and planning sessions. Your psychologist will take a clinical history and review your test results with you. Further tests may be required to confirm initial results.
This will guide your psychologist in developing a treatment plan for you which will outline:
- How to achieve the goals of your therapy.
- Prioitise the issues to work on first.
- Develop a time frame for your counselling, e.g., short term or long-term.
Introductory Treatment
The following two treatment sessions in your package allow you and your psychologist to start working on your goals and to monitor your progress. Depending on the complexity of your situation, you may require longer treatment.
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you will be eligible for substantial rebates on 10 sessions per calendar year. If you require further support, you can join one of our therapy groups which attract an additional 10 group rebates per calendar year.
