Next step after the Dyslexia Screener (Level 1)

Completed the Dyslexia Screener?

If you’ve completed our Level 1 Dyslexia Screener and would like to understand what’s actually driving the difficulties, this is the next step.

This is the second stage in our Learning & Reading pathway — providing clarity before deciding whether a comprehensive assessment is needed.

The Level 2 Learning & Reading Profile

The Level 2 Learning & Reading Profile is a 60-minute consultation designed to help you understand how you process reading and information.

It builds on your screening results to identify patterns that may be contributing to ongoing difficulties with reading, writing, and processing information.

Many adults reach this stage wanting clearer answers around why certain tasks feel more effortful, slow, or inconsistent. This session provides a structured and supportive way to explore these patterns and determine what next steps may be most helpful.

What this session involves

This is a structured consultation with a registered psychologist, combining:

  • Targeted reading screeners
To assess how you process written language
  • Short practical tasks
To observe how reading and writing function in real time
  • A focused discussion
To understand how this shows up in your work, study, and day-to-day life

Together, this provides a clear picture of how your learning and reading profile is functioning.

Areas explored may include:

  • Reading speed and accuracy
  • Spelling and written tasks
  • Sound processing (phonetics)
  • Comprehension and information processing

What you will receive

By the end of the session, you will receive:

      • A clear and practical overview of your learning profile
      • Insight into key areas of strength and difficulty
      • Results from targeted screening measures and tasks
      • Practical recommendations and strategies
      • Clear guidance on whether a comprehensive assessment (Level 3) may be appropriate

      Recommendations may include:

      • Learning support strategies
      • Workplace or study adjustments
      • Further assessment pathways
      • Therapy or educational support options

      How it Works

Once booked, you will attend a 60-minute online consultation with a psychologist.

Any relevant background information or previous screener results will be reviewed as part of the session. Feedback and recommendations are provided during the consultation.

      Important information

      • This session does not provide a formal diagnosis
      • It is a structured screening step, not a full assessment
      • Observations are based on clinical discussion, screening tools, and practical tasks

Please note: If you are seeking a formal diagnosis or documentation for school, university, workplace, or external support purposes, a comprehensive learning assessment may be more appropriate.

      Is this right for you?

This step is often helpful if you:

      • Have completed the Dyslexia Screener and want more clarity
      • Experience ongoing difficulties with reading, writing, or processing information
      • Find learning tasks more effortful, slow, or inconsistent
      • Want guidance before committing to a full assessment

Take the next step toward understanding how you process reading and information with a clear and structured approach.
